The uterine resting procedure applied to all patients in our center helps increase success. Unfortunately, despite our full focus on this, there is no other universal scientific technique for everyone. The PGT method, particularly for patients with multiple embryos and those over 35, improves success.

Pain and discharge after OPU (Egg Collection)?

Upon waking from anesthesia, there may be mild pelvic pain that responds to painkillers when necessary. After 2-3 hours of rest, the patient is discharged.

Travel after transfer?

There is no risk of the embryo falling from the uterus. Therefore, all physical activities, including travel, are allowed.

How should I eat?

There is no specific type of food, dietary restriction, or prohibited food. Tea should be limited, and coffee should be avoided. A balanced diet containing protein, fat, fiber, and carbohydrates is recommended.

Alcohol and smoking?

Both should be stopped for men and women.

What are the most common side effects of medications?

There are no serious side effects. Stimulant injections can occasionally cause temporary and harmless redness at the injection site. The Estrofem pill we use may rarely cause nausea and headaches. Vaginal tablets containing progesterone may sometimes cause constipation.

How long will the treatment take?

The first 2-week injection treatment and egg collection are the most frequent part of the treatment process. The next 1.5 months involve one check-up and embryo placement. The total treatment time up to the pregnancy test is 2 months.

Will it be different from a normal pregnancy?

The pregnancy process and baby health will not be different.

What happens if I get COVID-19? Will it affect my future fertility?

So far, it has not been proven that COVID-19 reduces future fertility chances.

What factors contribute to my success in IVF?

The two most important factors are the woman’s age being under 35 and having a sufficient egg reserve. Additionally, duration of infertility, previous IVF failures, and smoking are secondary negative factors.

Up to what age can IVF be successful? Is it possible after 40?

After age 40, both egg quality and quantity decrease, significantly reducing success. The average live birth rate in IVF is around 50%, but it drops to 20% for ages 40-42 and below 5% after 42.

What can be done to increase a low egg reserve? Do diet and vitamins help?

There is no proven effective drug or vitamin, nor a specific type of diet.

Does being overweight affect IVF success and pregnancy?

Obesity significantly increases the risks of pregnancy complications, such as hypertension, diabetes, and preterm birth, though it may not affect pregnancy success itself.

Are vitamins and antioxidants effective in strengthening sperm?

Although widely used, there is no proven effectiveness.

How can families with genetic diseases have a healthy baby through IVF?

A known genetic disease in the family is required. With the PGT-m method, tests can be performed on embryos created through IVF, allowing selection of healthy embryos.

Why is uterine rest effective? How much longer does the process take?

The process is extended by an additional month. Uterine rest prevents complications like OHSS and ectopic pregnancy caused by egg-stimulating drugs. Pregnancy success rates are also higher as embryos are transferred in a natural environment.

Who should undergo PGT to increase IVF success?

Success improves when selecting embryos in patients over 35 with multiple eggs and embryos. In younger patients with fewer eggs, the effect is debatable.

Are there any risks with the medications used in IVF? Does it reduce egg reserve?

It does not reduce the reserve. While the medications may have temporary mild side effects, they do not cause permanent problems. There is no proven increase in cancer risk.

What should I pay attention to after embryo placement? Should I rest?

Identity verification is conducted by multiple staff members at the time of procedure. At all stages, identity confirmation is also carried out through electronic tags.

Can IVF be performed with the presence of fibroids?

Fibroids that grow into the uterus (submucosal) should be removed, regardless of size, before embryo placement. IVF can be successfully performed with fibroids growing outward or not pressing inward.

Is surgery necessary for chocolate cysts?

Surgery is not required to increase IVF success. The presence of the cyst does not affect IVF success. However, if removed, the egg reserve may decrease. The idea of increasing natural pregnancy has not been proven.

How many embryos will be transferred?

Can I learn the gender of my embryos?

Gender selection is not permitted by law.

Is there a higher chance of disability in IVF babies? Could there be other health issues later?

No, there is no proven increase in risk. No health issues have been identified so far.

How many attempts can be made in IVF? Is there a limit?

There is no limit. However, with each additional attempt, the success rate decreases.

What happens to my frozen embryos if I don’t use them?

If additional storage extension is not requested, embryos cannot be stored for more than 5 years by law and are destroyed under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.

Will I feel pain during IVF?

No. Daily injections are subcutaneous and can be self-administered. Egg collection is performed under anesthesia, and the transfer procedure is painless.

When should IVF be performed in cases of polycystic disease?

The first option is Letrozole or Clomid tablets. If the treatment does not yield results, injections, insemination, or IVF are options.

Is it wise to skip insemination and go straight to IVF?

Insemination has a success rate of about 10-15%, so IVF, which has a fourfold higher success rate, may be preferred.

How can I track my ovulation day for natural pregnancy?

If the ovulation day, which only lasts 24 hours, is missed, that month will be lost. The best method is ovulation tests available at pharmacies. These are usually started on the 10th day of the cycle with morning urine. After a positive test, intercourse should occur within 24 hours.

There are no risks different from natural pregnancy. The most common issues are chemical pregnancy, empty pregnancy, or heartbeat loss, occurring in about 15-20% of cases depending on age.

What risks do I have with a twin pregnancy?

The main risks are premature birth, pregnancy hypertension, and diabetes. The risk of preterm birth is four times higher, so by law, a single embryo transfer is mandatory for those under 35.

Is the egg retrieval procedure painful?

Under light general anesthesia, you will not feel any pain during the procedure.

How many embryos are transferred during IVF treatment?

For patients under 35 years old with no previous unsuccessful attempts, 1 embryo is transferred. For those over 35, 2 embryos may be transferred.

How should I take my injections?

Most egg-stimulating injections can be administered at home subcutaneously in the arm or abdominal area. Be sure to receive detailed instructions from your nurse beforehand.

How should I store my medications?

Store your egg-stimulating injections in the vegetable compartment of your refrigerator without freezing. However, a cold chain is not necessary during transportation.

Can I use an injection that has already been opened?

Yes, but the usage period of an opened injection is 1 month.
